<p><strong>Reporting Relationships: </strong><span>This position reports to the Director of Marketing in Boston and works closely with the Director of Business Development West Coast Region in San Diego. <br /></span></p> <p class="MsoBodyText"><strong></strong></p> <p class="MsoBodyText"><strong>Primary Responsibilities: </strong></p> <p class="MsoBodyText"><span><strong>Business development and client retention -</strong></span></p> <ul> <ul><li> <div class="MsoBodyText"><span></span><span>Coordinate business development initiatives, including proposal preparation, client presentations, pitch books, newsletters, announcements and market development.</span></div> </li><li> <div class="MsoBodyText"><span>Develop and maintain relationships with ML members in support of ongoing client relations.</span></div> </li><li> <div class="MsoBodyText"><span></span>In conjunction with the Director of Business Development, implement established methods that lead to competitive advantages for the Firm.</div> </li><li> <div class="StandardL1">Effectively articulate the value proposition of the Firms services to specifically targeted clients. Promote a favorable image of the Firm with clients, vendors, industry organizations and community associations and seek opportunities to leverage attorneys extensive experience.</div> </li><li> <div class="StandardL1">Use marketing research tools for creating profiling for business development.</div> </li><li> <div class="MsoBodyText"><span>Research strategic market opportunities and help facilitate the cross-selling of existing services, practice groups and offices.</span></div> </li><li><span>Coordinate business development efforts with the marketing managers across the firm who support those efforts. </span></li></ul> </ul> <p><span></span></p> <p><span></span><span><strong>Events Planning and Management -</strong></span></p> <ul dir="ltr"> <ul><li> <div class="MsoBodyText"><span>In conjunction with the Marketing Events Coordinator, set up seminars and events (finding location, all arrangements with hotel/other location, food, invitations, RSVPs, registration, name tags, speakers, handouts and AV equipment); attend seminars to handle registration table and other logistics.</span></div> </li><li> <div class="MsoBodyText"><span class="ParagraphNumber"><span>Manage Palo Alto events budget expenditures for client events and/or seminars, client receptions and other social events.</span></span></div> </li><li> <div class="MsoBodyText"><span class="ParagraphNumber"><span>Attend events as necessary for networking.</span></span></div> </li></ul> </ul> <p class="MsoBodyText"><span><strong>Operations and Systems -</strong></span><span> </span></p> <ul> <ul><li><span>Assist in the development of an annual Palo Alto business development budget and marketing plan and work throughout the year to stay within budget and execute the marketing plan.</span></li><li> <div class="StandardL1">Work closely with ML members and the Director of Business Development to implement appropriate practice-specific business plans and models.<span> </span></div> </li><li> <div class="StandardL1">Track, analyze and report results of these plans to office and marketing management, with whom proper and frequent communications must be maintained.</div> </li><li> <div class="NumContHalf"><span>Work cooperatively with staff and managers at the Palo Alto office to advance both marketing department and general administrative goals and pr
Job Requirements
<ul><li>Bachelors degree, preferably in marketing or communications, with 2 - 4 years related work experience.</li><li>Able to manage multiple, often competing, priorities.</li><li>Attention to detail and ability to execute through to completion.</li><li>Motivated self-starter.</li><li>Ability to work as part of a team and with people with varying communications styles.</li><li>Works well in an entrepreneurial environment and does what it takes to get the job done.</li><li>Energetic, enthusiastic and positive attitude.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communications skills.</li><li>Solid computer skills, including proficiency in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.</li><li>Experience in law firm marketing a plus.</li></ul>
