This may be the opportunity for you!</p> <p><strong>Orrick </strong>currently has an exciting opportunity in either <strong>San Francisco, New York, DC or Houston </strong>for an experienced <strong>Marketing Specialist </strong>who is ready to be challenged within an AmLaw Top 100 law firm.</p> <p>As the Marketing Specialist, you would support broad business development efforts for the <strong>Energy & Infrastructure (E&I) </strong>sector firmwide.</p> <p>This is an exempt employee position and occasional evening and weekend work is possible.</p> <p>You would be responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Orrick's client service standards and core values.</p> <p><strong>What Will You Do?<br /> At the direction of the Director, Senior Manager or Manager, you would do the following:</strong></p> <p>• Provide strong assistance with creating, editing and maintaining all E&I collateral and market-facing materials<br /> • Assist with the planning, implementation, and follow-up of new business or cross-marketing opportunities, including supporting E&I sector key client teams. <br /> • Work with the creative team and assist with the development of content and design for various sector collateral material, client invitations, etc. <br /> • Work with communications team to draft press releases and content<br /> • Conduct market research on specified industries, markets, targeted opportunities, sponsorships, events and marketing & business development topics<br /> • Maintain (with support of automated systems and firm tools) internal E&I sector resources</p> <p>You will also assist with planning and executing client seminars and sponsorships, including coordinating with vendors and conference organizers and conducting planning and debrief calls with attorneys to improve event participation and analyze return on investment, manage special projects for the E&I sector and track group initiatives, work with E&I marketing team and lawyers to draft strategic plans and perform other marketing and business development related responsibilities and projects as necessary.</p> <p>To submit your resume and cover letter for this position, please visit our listing at www.orrick.com/careers/.</p> <p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, sex, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, protected veteran status, or on the basis of disability.</p> <p>Consistent with the SF Fair Chance Ordinance, an arrest and conviction record will not automatically disqualify a qualified applicant from consideration.</p>
Job Requirements
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong><br />You will need four or more years of law firm experience. You must be detail- oriented, with strong writing and editing abilities and excellent communication (both oral and written) and follow-up skills. You will also need to be able to perform effectively in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. Also essential is the ability to multi-task and prioritize. If you have working knowledge of legal terms and concepts, that is a plus.</p> <p><strong>Other desirable traits include the following:</strong></p> <p>• Energy industry experience or deep understanding of basic sector activity and markets<br /> • Responsive and reliable, accepting accountability and involvement with projects<br /> • Maintains high level of attention to detail in all aspects of the job<br /> • Action-oriented, intellectually sharp, capable and agile<br /> • Highly productive and flexible<br /> • Maintains a "can-do" attitude<br /> • Works comfortably and confidently with a wide variety of audiences and personalities both inside the firm and externally<br /> • Strong dedication to teamwork and ability to quickly build rapport with lawyers and team members</p> <p><strong>Do You Possess the Following Knowledge, Experience and Education?</strong></p> <p>• Four-year degree in marketing, business, communications, English or other related discipline preferred. Applicants may be required to complete a short writing and or copyediting test. <br /> • Excellent computer skills necessary; high proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel<br /> • A minimum of four years of experience in a law firm or other professional services environment preferred. Experience with the energy industry a bonus but not required<br /> • Strong project management skills, including independent judgment and decision-making<br /> • Strong leadership and communication skills<br /> • Ability to gain agreement and to build strong relationships within the firm<br /> • Excellent writing and proofreading skills<br /> • Ability to become proficient in the use of the following marketing systems and tools: Interaction / Who Knows Who (CRM Software); Orrick’s Biography Tool; Orrick’s Portal and Relevant Marketing Resources, such as Client-Matter and Deals Databases (Oex/Foundation); Enterprise Search; eReports; Tikit (Broadcast Email and Event Registrations suite); and AdobePro/Nuance PDF. </p>
