<p>The Senior Coordinator develops & supports the strategic plan of the Global Practice Group Chairs (PGC) & works closely w/ the Director of Client Development & the BD Manager to develop & implement global BD goals for the Practice Group. Roles & responsibilities include: </p> <ul> <li>Acts as lead resource to PGCs regarding BD activities & operational & management projects</li> <li>Stays abreast of developments & trends in the practice groups & remains informed of all major new clients</li> <li>Develops knowledge of & acts as firm resource regarding: attorney expertise, practice group expertise, client base, firm experience, industry/trade group organizations, legal, industry & business trends, marketing materials, & media</li> <li>Develops & maintains relationships w/ Global PCGs, Local PCGs regarding BD needs</li> <li>Consults w/ the PGCs & the Director of Client Development & the BD Manager to develop & implement marketing & BD plans to include client targeting programs, client teams, client surveys, seminars, etc.</li> <li>Coordinates w/ the local BD Managers & other BD to develop pitch books, RFPs & materials </li> <li>Maintains & submits a monthly activity report to the PGC, Director of Client Development and the BD Manager</li> <li>Consults w/ the PGCs & the Director of Client Development & the BD Manager to forecast & outline operational & BD budget requirements</li> <li>Verifies, maintains & provides updates to the EDB. May suggest enhancements to the database</li> <li>Consults w/ the PGCs & the Director of Client Development & the BD Manager to provide information for client surveys, league tables & cross-selling activities/pitches/targets</li> <li>Works w/ the Director of Client Development & the BD Manager to coordinate the integration of comprehensive marketing & BD initiatives</li> <li>Works w/ local BD Managers & others to ensure that significant matters are publicized in accordance with the firm’s PR policy & in conjunction with the firm’s PR resources</li> <li>Identifies industry or practice league tables & surveys for Latham’s participation. Develops & maintains an infrastructure & process to verify the firm’s responses to surveys & awards submissions</li> <li>Expands practice-specific mailing lists using the firm’s CRM system for targeted practice groups & industries in conjunction w/ the InterAction team</li> <li>Conducts market research regarding practice groups, their clients & prospective clients, competitors, & market share w/ the GSO BD, library, & accounting teams</li> <li>Prepares analyses of market trends, internal financial information, competitor information, & pitch activity</li> <li>Determines key outside organizations & conferences to participate & sponsor</li> <li>Participates in & organizes regular meetings or conference calls w/ department & practice group leadership</li> <li>Prepares responses to legal directories in concert w/ practice office BD managers & coordinates w/ the PR team</li> <li>Coordinates w/ the Director of Global Client Development, Director of PR, Client Programs Manager, & the Global Creative Services Manager where appropriate</li> </ul>
Job Requirements
<p>The successful Senior Practice Development Coordinator – M&A and Private Equity has basic knowledge of core marketing principals including internal communications, public relations seminar/event planning, branding, market research, competitive intelligence, credentials and RFP response preparation. He or she has strong leadership skills and the ability to proofread and ensure accurate pitches, presentations, database entries and other work products. The Coordinator also has advanced knowledge of PC applications, including the entire suite of MS Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint). This position will sit in either our New York, Chicago, or London office. <br /><br />A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field is required. Minimum of four (4) years of marketing or relevant legal experience is desired as well as experience responding to ad-hoc requests, developing analysis, and producing reports. Prior knowledge and experience working in the legal industry is not required. Occasional travel is also required for this position.
