<p>Under the direction of the Chief Marketing Officer, Director of Administration and the Partner-in-Charge, the ideal candidate will become a valued member of the team by providing a wide range of business development and marketing initiatives for all practice groups located in the Washington office.</p> <p>With appropriate team members, the Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for the following duties: work with partners in Washington office to develop business strategies and action plans; strategize with attorneys following client pitches and tracking pitch results; attend and network at business association/organization events and provide leads for business development efforts, such as direct marketing presentations and speaking opportunities; work with the Chief Marketing Officer and outside public relations firms and advertising agencies to increase visibility, name recognition and knowledge of available services among potential and existing clients; gather marketing-related articles, results of marketing activities and information regarding civic and client activities for inclusion in firm-wide communication piece; work with attorneys to develop customized marketing materials; manage internal and external seminars for clients/prospects; create and monitor office marketing budget; supervise and manage business development staff; overseeing the development and writing of marketing materials such as: brochures, practice group descriptions, deal lists, firm press coverage and other related materials; work with the Partner-in-Charge to produce materials for lateral hires including lateral attorney biographies.</p> <p>Required skills include: Strong business writing skills (samples required); effective, proven managerial experience; proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; team player with excellent organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; flexibility to work overtime on short notice; and interpersonal skills necessary to establish effective working relationships within the department, the firm and with external business partners.</p> <p> </p>
Job Requirements
A Bachelors degree is required, preferably in Marketing, English or Communications.
