<p>This position, will report to senior management and is responsible for creating and managing marketing programs for the firm. Specifically, the director is accountable for maintaining a cohesive internal and external marketing network that supports the Firms various departments in information technology, media relations, design/creative services, conference and events planning as well as assisting with administration of other marketing program activities. <br /> <br />This positions primary responsibility is to oversee and support the development and assist in the implementation of strategically focused business initiatives to create and make available the marketing materials and resources needed to secure new clients and strengthen existing relationships, consistent with the overall goals and strategies of the firm and its Marketing & Business Development activities, programs, and strategies. The Director of Marketing is expected to perform all responsibilities or to undertake whatever effort is necessary to ensure that the job is completed in a timely and effective manner. <br /> <br />Primary Objective: <br /> <br />To develop, coordinate and implement the various marketing efforts for the Firm in all of its offices in support of increased prestige, visibility and profitability. To demonstrate tangible results from marketing efforts into realized business for the firm. <br /> <br />Essential Duties and Responsibilities: <br /> <br /><ul><li>Responsible for developing and executing the firms marketing plan which outlines all major aspects of a planned marketing effort including appropriate objectives, goals, specific projects, assignment of responsibility to individuals, deadlines and budgets. The marketing plan is developed in coordination with the Marketing Department and Business Development Committee and approved by the Operating Committee. <br /></li><li>Responsible for working with the Marketing Department and Business Development Committee , accountable to the Operating Committee to create an annual marketing budget and, monitors expenditures and provides management information to appropriate Firm professionals, department heads and administrative partners regarding expenditures. <br /></li><li>Takes primary responsibility for determining what marketing materials are needed institutionally as well as on an individual practice level and coordinates the production of such materials. This includes but is not limited to writing, updating and maintaining brochures, announcements, newsletters, client alerts. <br /></li><li>Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge of practice groups, including attorney expertise, Firm expertise , industry/trade group organizations, business trends, and clients. <br /></li><li>Manages and coordinates preparation of proposals, presentations and responses to RFPs and conducts follow up; writes, updates and maintains marketing materials. <br /></li><li>Coordinates business development and new product/service efforts between practice groups and offices. <br /></li><li>Assists in the development of targeted client development initiatives. <br /></li><li>Oversees practice and profile web site content. <br /></li><li>Conceptualizes and implements special events (seminars, receptions, group events) and assist with special projects. <br /></li><li>Conducts research on new and prospective clients, target markets, industry segments, and marketplaces. <br /></li><li>Oversees development and maintenance of
Job Requirements
<ul><li>Bachelors degree in Marketing or Business and seven or more years related experience are required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree in Marketing or Business is preferred. Prior experience working in a legal or professional services firm is essential.</li><li>Industry knowledge and experience are also preferred.</li><li>Understanding of the issues and business drives associated with customs and international trade.</li><li>Outstanding interpersonal skills and capability to work effectively in multicultural organization.</li><li>Highly professional, with excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to develop and deliver executive-level presentations.</li><li>Ability to quickly and proactively identify and analyze problems, develop solutions and deliver results.</li><li>Flexibility and willingness to meet the demands of the role through extended hours.</li><li>Some travel required.</li><li>Commitment to professional growth and development.</li><li>Experienced in preparing customized marketing material.</li><li>Ability to interact with lawyers and administrative staff at all levels.</li><li>Strong project management and organizational skills.</li><li>, "Understanding of our clients</li><li>legal and business objectives.",</li><li>.Ability to work remotely with various domestic and global offices.</li><li>.Reside in Chicago, Miami, New York, or Washington, D.C. office.</li></ul>
