<p>Nixon Peabody’s national health care practice serves as outside general counsel to numerous hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, physician practices, managed care organizations, tertiary care facilities and elder care institutions, health care technology companies, and other health care and life sciences businesses and providers. We are frequently retained to serve as special counsel on particular projects, transactions, or issues. We have health attorneys in Albany, Boston, Chicago, Long Island, Los Angeles, Providence and San Francisco.</p> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Long Island, New York City or Boston<br /><strong><br />Responsibilities:</strong><br /><br />The Manager will manage the performance and execution of the following essential functions:</p> <ul> <li>With practice group leader, team leaders, department leadership, and others, develop strategic plans and implement marketing and business development programs to drive the goals of the assigned practice group and industry team.</li> <li>Incorporate knowledge of the Health Care Industry into firm-wide business strategies; anticipate client needs and trends and develop responsive solutions to support practice group and individual attorneys.</li> <li>Develop strong, responsive relationships with practice group and team leaders to gain consensus on and to direct strategies. Frequent travel to the offices where health care attorneys reside to provide business development support.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with other marketing and business development managers and others to ensure marketing plans integrate with and support firm-wide marketing strategies and strategies of other practice groups.</li> <li>Supervise and mentor a Business Development Specialist assigned to support the practice group and industry team.</li> </ul> <p>For more details, please visit our website. <a href="http://www.nixonpeabody.com/careers">www.nixonpeabody.com/careers</a></p>
Job Requirements
<p>Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 - 8 years of marketing or business development experience, preferably in a major law firm and/or professional services environment with minimum 3 years in a management/supervisory role. MBA or Master’s degree a plus.</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of health care industry, is preferred.</li> <li>Creative, forward thinker capable of bringing new ideas.</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work with all levels of individuals throughout an organization.</li> <li>Superb communication skills, particularly excellent writing ability. Detail oriented.</li> <li>Strong business acumen.</li> <li>Must be able to manage heavy workload, prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines.</li> <li>Proven ability to strategize, plan and execute events.</li> <li>Leadership, mentoring, coaching and client-service skills.</li> <li>Results oriented team player with ability to develop deep knowledge of sources of business and resources (e.g. professional organizations, publications, referral sources) for the practice area.</li> <li>Familiar with and comfortable using marketing databases. Knowledge of InterAction (CRM) a plus.</li> <li>Must be a self-starter who knows how to motivate people, possesses initiative and a positive attitude.</li> <li>Must be willing and able to “rollup the sleeves” and handle any aspect (from administrative to supervisory) of the marketing and business development task at hand to accomplish the job, including, as necessary, providing assistance for other marketing projects that may be initiated out of another office.</li> </ul>
