<p>Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: <br /> <br />1. Work with the Director of Marketing to develop and manage the implementation the strategic communications plan <br /> <br />2. Work with practice group leaders and business development managers to create and implement communications plans for each department/practice area <br /> <br />3. Support the development of key firm and practice area messages <br /> <br />4. Manage the development and distribution of all press releases <br /> <br />5. Participate in the identification, evaluation and development of media relations pitch angles/campaigns. <br /> <br />6. Serve as the clearing house for all media inquiries, working with the Director of Marketing on key issues. <br /> <br />7. Oversee the provision of media training <br /> <br />8. Assess the Director in selecting firm PR consultants and manage ongoing relationship <br /> <br />9. Foster relationships with the media <br /> <br />10. Coordinate with Director regarding firm crisis communications and messaging <br /> <br />11. A ssist attorneys and staff with the creation and editing of by-lined articles, newsletters and other client communications <br /> <br />12. Work with outside writers when necessary to create articles, marketing materials and other external communications <br /> <br />13. Manage content of the external website</p>
Job Requirements
<ul><li>Education/Certification:</li><li> Bachelors degree in related field</li><li>Experience</li><li> 8-10 years in a legal or corporate communications/marketing position</li><li> Strong knowledge of the New York and DC markets a plus</li><li>Skills and Abilities:</li><li> Proven project management ability</li><li> Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li> Ability to work with senior partners</li><li> Strong leadership skills</li><li> Sound judgment, decision making and reasoning abilities</li><li> Ability to appropriately prioritize tasks and responsibilities as well as meet deadlines</li><li> Ability to work in a highly organized and efficient manner</li><li> Detail oriented, with ability to also see big picture</li><li>Hardware / Software</li><li> Proficient in Microsoft Office</li></ul>
