<p class="opportunity-description" data-bind="html: Description" data-automation="job-description">Akerman LLP, a leading U.S. law firm, is seeking a Senior Client Development Manager to be based in Miami, New York, or Chicago. The Senior Manager will develop and implement programs that support practice or industry group business plans and enhance the business and the reputation of the firm. The incumbent will successfully manage multiple competing priorities within a matrix environment, establish solid working relationships with diverse personalities across multiple offices, and effectively develop and execute desired client development and marketing strategies. The Senior Manager will also drive efforts to deliver legal services in new and innovative ways.</p> <p> Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Works directly with practice or industry leadership to develop and implement client development, marketing, and communications plans. Meets with practice or industry teams on a frequent basis.</li> <li>Responsible for overseeing the client development, marketing, and communications activities for large or complex practice or industry groups and/or managing a team of marketing professionals.</li> <li>Creates and monitors client development programs including cross-selling initiatives and client expansion plans within the practice or industry groups.</li> <li>Oversees development of client-specific credentials presentations, proposals, and RFP/RFI responses as well as other client-facing materials.</li> <li>Oversees the development of practice or industry credentials for general use in print and on firm website, and the development of experience and biography databases for firm-wide groups.</li> <li>Oversees communications programs for internal audiences.</li> <li>Serves as a member of integration team for new laterals joining the practice or industry group. </li> <li>Directs media relations team on speaker and story placement ideas in all relevant media outlets.</li> <li>Oversees development of practice submissions for directories, databases, and other publications as needed.</li> <li>Identifies opportunities for strategic sponsorships and other brand-building opportunities; conceives and supervises external client impact events, including speaker placement.</li> <li>Manages individuals with more than one reporting line in a cross-functional matrix organizational structure. </li> </ul>
Job Requirements
<p>Requirements:</p> <p>We require 10 or more years of experience, preferably with an AmLaw 100, financial services, or professional services firm, in a business development or marketing role. Excellent client relations and verbal and written communications skills are required. Management experience is required. Skills and background should be in planning and implementing business development programs, as well as strategic marketing or communications initiatives.</p> <p>We offer an excellent compensation and benefits package.
